Nordic-Baltic Dyslexia Alliance: Together, We Can Empowering Adult Learners to Succeed
NPAD-2024/10115

PROJECT AIM: To develop an innovative teaching system program for adult educators to create a more inclusive and equitable learning environment for dyslexic adult learners. The project aim and planned activities contributes to Nordplus 2023-2027 main objective: support, build on, reap the benefits of, and promote innovative products and processes in education through the systematic exchange of experiences and good practice. During cooperation, processes will be encouraged in the systematic exchange of experiences and good practices in order to create innovative digital teaching system program and material. This project deals with the important topic of dyslexia in adult learners, which is linked to this year's highlight "Enhancing Educational Cooperation for a Socially Sustainable Future".This project seeks to provide opportunities for successful learning for all, especially those with fewer opportunities (dyslexic adult learners).
PROJECT RESULTS: The teaching system program will be documented and provide all the needed information for each adult educator to be able to use the program and teach other educators. The program will contain detailed information on how to plan every lecture, what information should be taught, and how it should be done. Lecture plans for every topic with a proposed time for every information segment, goals and tips will be provided. It will also specify how to use the material that is provided, how to conduct tasks, or when to look into the lecture with creativity. The materials for every topic will be made in PowerPoint format. The material will contain all the information and tasks that have to be used to provide the needed information and reach the goals that are raised. The information and tasks will be made in such a manner, that would be friendly and clear for adult students who have dyslexia.

Nordic-Baltic organizations unite to improve adult learners with dyslexia
NPAD-2023/10334

PROJECT AIM: To develop practical, accessible and multilingual electronic guidance (e-guidance) for adult educators to support inclusive and dyslexia-friendly learning environments across the Nordic-Baltic region. The project directly contributed to the Nordplus 2023–2027 objective by promoting the exchange of experience and good practice, leading to the development of concrete tools for practitioners working with dyslexic adult learners. The project addressed a significant gap in adult education – the lack of structured support and adapted teaching methods for adults with dyslexia. By bringing together partners from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Denmark, the initiative aimed to increase the competence of educators, enhance learning environments, and build a sustainable transnational cooperation network.
PROJECT RESULTS: The core result of the project is a comprehensive e-guidance, developed collaboratively and translated into five languages (English, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, and Danish).
The e-guidance includes:
• Methods for recognising dyslexia in adult learners;
• Inclusive planning of lessons, adapted assessment tasks;
• Multisensory and visual teaching strategies;
• Use of assistive technologies;
• Guidance that is also useful for neurotypical students. All content is designed to be clear, structured, and accessible for teachers, with a special focus on real classroom implementation.
